Social networking for client interaction, marketing and networking opportunities definitely has possibilities in my library.Yammer has already been introduced and is being embraced by many staff members. The concepts of Listening, talking energising, supporting and embracing put forward by Josh Bernoff at Forrester sound great.I also really liked searching through the Communities of practice for local government website-great stuff.

So Delicious
I found delicious really interesting and lots of fun.I see many uses for bookmarking with delicious in the library environment - books can be labelled, grouped and cross-referenced,shared with others and new resources on a particular subject of interest can be easily accessed.

Super dooperYouTube
YouTube is great.I see a use for it to promote activities, events and special occasions within the library. They can include author visits, presentations and also promotional talks from library staff about upcoming events being held in the library.

Wikis
I looked at the following wikis:
Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki
Booklovers Wiki and
Montana History Wiki.
They were all different but equally interesting in that they were all a means of easily accessing information and resources to meet the needs of particular groups. I particularly found the Library Success Wiki helpful because it is a venue where people can share ideas with one another and where librarians can learn to replicate the successes of other libraries. It's a one stop shop for information regarding Reader's advisory services, reference, literary and information services, resource sharing, materials selection and collection maintenance as well as ideas on how to sellyour library, provide training and development for librarians and access the latest developments in technology. All in all , a very useful and easy to use tool.

Willing to learn
I find Learning 2.0 interesting and very challenging. This is my first blog and I am still coming to terms with the whole concept. I signed up for the New South Wales Public Libraries Learning 2.0 program because I am ,without doubt, technologically challenged. The main things I'd like to learn are the practical applications of all the new technologies, including wiki, youtube, podcasts,
RSS, flickr etc.
What do I think about " Lifelong Learning " ?
I think it is essential to constantly keep one's mind active and questioning, and to keep up with modern technologies that change so rapidly.
Blogs have been used in my library for some time, so I am aware of how beneficial they are. I am looking forward to making use of my own blog now and catching up with technology.
